Health and safety plus the CSCS Test working towards 5 year card. This self-learning course offers a fully independent study experience, allowing you to progress without the need for tutor guidance. You’ll be responsible for preparing yourself using the provided materials, giving you the freedom to revise at your own pace. Once you've completed your preparation, you'll be able to schedule your test and take it on-site when you're ready. This approach is perfect for those who prefer flexible, self-driven learning to achieve their certification goals.
What is CSCS?
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications. For contractors and clients the cards bring business benefits that help to improve on-site efficiency and cut costs.
Important Update: New Validity Periods for CSCS Cards
As part of ongoing efforts to improve safety and competence standards in the UK construction industry, the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has updated the validity periods for CSCS cards.

Operative CSCS Cards:
Effective immediately, CSCS cards issued without a formal qualification (e.g., labourers) will now be valid for 2 years instead of 5. This change ensures that all workers regularly update their knowledge and training to stay current with industry standards.

CSCS Cards with NVQ:
If you hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 or higher in a relevant construction trade, you are eligible for a 5-year CSCS card, which reflects your certified level of skill and competence
What You Need to Do:
- If you currently hold a 5-year CSCS card without an NVQ, prepare to renew under the new 2-year rule when your card expires.
- To maintain a 5-year card, consider enrolling in an NVQ program relevant to your trade or role.
