This self-learning course is tailored for independent learners, offering a flexible study experience without tutor guidance or tuition fees. You’ll receive all the necessary study materials to prepare at your own pace. Once you feel ready, you can easily book your CSCS test and complete it in person. Friendly Support

The Labourer card is valid for two years on first application. Workers who continue in labouring roles can renew for five years by providing evidence they are employed in a labouring role.


The accompanying CITB Health, safety, and environment test used for the initial two-year card application only will see its validity extended to three years, allowing it to be used for renewal.


Those who held a Labourer card prior to February 2025 are eligible for another five-year card by providing the same evidence. Click Here for A full list of FAQs.


All applicants must pass the CITB health, safety and environment test for operatives and hold one of the following:


  • The Level 1 (Scotland Level 4) Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
  • The Scottish Level 5 REHIS Elementary Health and Safety Certificate
  • The NOCN/CSkills Awards Construction Health and Safety (F/618/0738) unit
  • A CSCS approved alternative qualification – see below.

Once an application is approved, cards should arrive within five working days.

    • CSCS test is self-learning. Simply revise at home and come and sit the test with us.

  • How will I learn

    This is a self-learning course with no tuition from a tutor you will book your test revision at home and come in and do the test.

  • Additional Info

    CSCS Test - A 6-month temporary card can be obtained only once if not in receipt of a current Health and Safety Certificate, Refer to CSCS ON 0344994477.  A 5-year CSCS card can be obtained if in receipt of the relevant health and safety qualification, Refer to CSCS on  0344994477.
